View Full Version : Whatever happened to Spin's Jack and Ali

The other thread started by Bear about how shite 98FM is reminded me of the disappearance in 2007 of the Jack and Ali lunchtime talkshow on Spin.
Don't get me wrong, talkshows are not my bag. My wife is addicted to "Moan to Joe" and I get a rash whenever I hear moaning voices in the background.
A nation's ideal of social justice is summed up in three words "Moan to Joe".
Anyway, that's not the point. I happened to be driving every Tuesday lunchtime and I developped a habit of listening to Jack and Ali. The fact that they were a real-life couple gave the show a very dynamic vibe (it must have been hard for them to sound positive and jolly after a major domestic argument...)
Anyway, they disappeared without a trace. Axed and buried all of sudden. Does anyone know what happened?
They were replaced by the most boring would-be-young-and-trendy me-me-miz.
Pity

I haven't a clue, but I was stuck in the car a week or so back and I heard a phone in to Gerry Ryan. This wan had a mini letter bomb in the post. She thought it'd be better to ring Gerry than the Gardaí.......argh..........

Thanks Grif. Jaysus, Sat and Sun mornings on Q102. Sounds like quite a drastic downgrade, no? And on the Bebo page there is no mention of the Spin era, at all... I reckon their sacking was a bad scene.
He used to always take the piss of Harney and the PDs. Would it be related?

Do you think Spin listeners vote? If they do do you think they vote PD? I don't think the PDs give a flyin' fuck about what airs on Spin.... much the same as the rest of us in fact.
