I know I am monopolising The Creche, but when getting the girls ready for bed last night, they both have spots on their legs, and one of her back and few on her chest. My wife was thinking Meningitis, typical of her, but we did the glass test (ok) and no other symptoms.
So we are thinking either chicken pox, or measels. Early symptoms seem very similar - runny nose, out of sorts, generally pissed off. Until yesterday, we just thought it was a cold.
How can you tell, or does it really matter?

Sounds like an ordinary rash of some kind. Once they pass the glass test you've nothing to worry about.
BTW - have you got your family on VHI? If you do that 24 hour nurse thing is only brilliant.

True, I had Chicken Pox for 6 weeks, a horrendous dose. So hopefully not. They are going to the doc today if it has not cleared overnight.
We are on Vivas, were going to call last night, but with the limited info we had (only appeared an hour earlier), I reckoned they would have erred on the side of caution and told us to call a Doc.

Babies get spots too.
Both of them, on the same areas, appearing within minutes of each other?

I suppose it could be chicken pox but the same areas would be a complete co-incidence.
How might they have picked it up?
(my point was though that nippers do get zits too)

Ah yeh, I know that, but it was clearly a rash of illness thing, very uniform.
My wife teaches kids swimming on Fridays, I guess she could have brought it home with her. They haven't been in contact with any kids recently.

Our one has had eczema, it takes a similar form to a spotty rash at first. Then the dots are joined....

It could be just rosiola or something harmless like that but it's best to get a doctor to look at it... us internet weirdos aren't always the best source of information on the health of infants.

One had eczema for a few months, different from that.
And Slap, you internet weirdos are still better than most people IRL.
