Hi guys

I recently got a job with the civil service in Dublin. I will be starting on January 9th and its on Mespil Road
in Dublin 4. I don't wanna live there because it will obviously cost a fortune. I was looking at Rathmines and its
not as bad but still a little dear to be honest. I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions for me? I was thinking of maybe living somewhere outside the city that would be along the dart line that might be a little cheaper. Somewhere that would be easy enough to get to and from work

Thanks

Chris

The 7a comes in from Dún Laoghaire, through Ballsbridge into the City centre, the no. 7 come from Shankill.
The 8 from Dalkey through Monkstown and the 45 comes in from Bray through Canbinteely. There is also the 18 that comes in from Palmerstown, it doesn't go through the City centre. They all stop in Lansdowne road/ Pembroke Road area (and head on into Merrion Square) so assuming you're in the Dept of Community affairs it's only a short stroll to work. Anywhere along those routes could be suitable. I'm not sure how long the journeys would take I've never done it in peak traffic.

You have to live in Rathmines when you come to the Civil Service. You just have to. It's a rule.

Only if you're a bogger.

And like folk masses.

Born and reared there... but I do have bogger roots. Folk masses provided an excellent opportunity to point and at laugh at neighbours who knew 3 chords and God.
