I was thinking of setting up a website as a way for family around the world to keep in contact with each other but am now thinking that a blog type thing would be easier to access, use and maintain. I know nothing about blogs so any advice would be appreciated.

It would need to have the following:

privacy - ie only family members would be able to view and access. (rules out blogger.com)
ability to upload photos
simple to use - there'll be older family members contributing (i hope).

I also had a quick look at yahoo's 360 service yesterday, and that looks promising. Is there anything else I should consider?

thanks in advance!

If you set up a blogger one, you can choose not to have it added to the blogger listings, not to notify weblogs of it's existence, and not to publish a site feed. While it will still be available on the internet, odds are no one will be able to find it unless you give them the url....

you haven't met some of my family.

stretch, privacy control is as much about protecting the internet from my family....

I appreciate the offer bb, but privacy is a requirement, more so from the older rellies than the younger ones...I'll probably go with yahoo 360.
