The packaging on the first reminds me of those Tunnocks Caramel Wafer things. I've been hankering after them for ages! Yumski McBumski

I used to love ice pops when I was younger. The variety that was freely available has seriously declined - they all have ice-cream in them now :(
My favourite were JRs, Thataways (sp? - but it was the one in the shape of a pointing hand) , Robin Hoods (raspberry) and Fat frogs (before the diet)

OMG yes !!! I remember JRs.. they were fab. Raspberry and Blackcurrant/Blackberry I think. They were made by some renegade (i.e. not HB) ice pop manufacturer.. and only available in selected sweetshops.
Remember the Chilly Willy too ?

I think JRs were made by Leadmore in Co. Clare which was gobbled up by HB...

Anyone remember Two'n'two bars? They had a dark chocloate bottom, milk chocolate top, with two different fondant creme-y bits in the middle. Tiny little squares, almost impossible to break cleanly, so it was always a risk offering a bit to someone else, they could end up with most of the bar, or else your thumb would smash through all their squares as you broke it. We used to call them Wonka bars due to the pre-sexual-awareness near-orgasmic taste-reaction they caused. Very few people can remember them, I sometimes wonder if I imagined it all...

Whams and Dan Bars are still available. But who can say whatever became of:
Texan Bar
Pyramint
Smiley (orangey-flavoured cousin to the Chomp)
Klipso Bar (teeth-shatteringly hard, cheap toffee made by Caffrey's)
Cola refreshers
5-4-3-2-1 Bars (or can you still get them in supermarkets?)
Those delicious pure fudge bars in the blue wrapper
The little plastic yokes that looked like an ice-cream cone, but with a screw-off sherbet sweet on the top and white sherbet powder inside....mmmmm
I guess they've all gone to candy heaven...

Texan bars - I broke a tooth on one of those. Really thick chocolate. Delish.

No, those ones with liquorice stick are still available I think. As are the Sherbet Double Dips with orange and cherry sherbert in separate pouches and a hard sherbet licking stick.
*Yorkshire accent* Ah love sherbet, me!!

I remember trigger bars well... they were a special prize in pre-primary school for good spelling or not wetting yourself.
There were also these cheapo toffee bars that came in 3 flavours, toffee (duh!), liquorice, and tobacco. yes, kiddie toffee in tobbacco flavour. These days you'd have to go outside the romper room to eat them. Anyone of a certain maturity remember them?

As an aside, I always laugh when I hear about Noddy.
Noddy is called "oui-oui" in France. The cartoon theme tune really takes the piss so to speak.

Yes, Golly Bars are still available, though the familiar Golliwog cartoon picture that used to adorn the (then paper, now plastic) wrapper is long gone.
