"i come back to you now at the turning of the tide..."
Fianna Filth have recorded a huge poll loss. Fine Gael are rising. Well, well...
Nonsense or a portent of better times?

Like FG are going to be any better?
I say we form the p45 party and run on the promise of a 2 day working week, a public flogging for Lawlor and his cronies, free broadband for all, good roads for some and fluffy bunnies for the tree-huggers. We can make this country better.
We can send CEO to the televised debate. That should put some manners on them.

"So where do you stand on the issue of IMF intervention in developing countries CEO?"
"Are you calling me a bitch? Are you? Ha fuckface? IŽll rip you a new arsehole and send ya home to mommy in a cardboard box. You patronising, sanctimonious knob-splatter. IŽll fucking KILL YOU YOU CUNT"
"Yes. And hereŽs angela with the weather..."

And so the cycle continues. FF are rightly booted out of office. In step FG and some godawful, squabbling coalition of lefties, greens and cranks. It's enough to make me think about emigrating.

Fine Gael have only gone up as a knock-on effect of FF's slump. Fine Gael are a dead party with no ideas who have long since lost their identitity, "led" by perhaps the only politician in the world who's thicker than George Bush. About the only talent that was left in their party was wiped out in the last election (Alan Dukes, the late Jim Mitchell). However badly the current Government may be doing, it's still the best of a bad lot. As Drifter pointed out, the State-bankrupting alternative on offer is a gaggle of clueless nonentities (FG), shrill, inept lefties (Labour/Green), independent/Socialist cranks (Joe Higgins, anyone?) and a few terrorists in suits - thanks but f*** off.

It's Catch 22. FF need to be shown they can't get away with what they've done, but the alternative is so much worse, it hardly bears thinking about. What do we do?

Run for the hills!
The irish political scene has been left in ruins this week. Whatever about the P45 party i think this country needs a new political party, Not a single issue party like the greens or the social-down at the bin lorry, we dont want to work moan-ist party or as dominant as FF. Something that appeals to the middle of the road, just want to get on with my life average normal everyday worker! Am i wrong?

political parties are almost by definition mediocre. the bigger it is, the blander it is due to the compromising of it's core values to try and keep everyone happy.
who would you vote for the in the UK? in the states?

I'm going to start giving my vote to the crazy independents and their mad ideas.
"Free Drugs for the young" etc...
let them in, watch them ruin the country from afar, wait untill the begging for FF to come back starts and sit back and laugh!
