..... The Shadow and I got refused entry to the Bailey last night - something to do with the cloak being unacceptable dress.
For the record we were sober as we hadnt had a drink yet.

I can personally vouch that at the time Busaras and the Shadow were both (a) totally sober without a single pint having passed their lips (b) not looking threatening (c) dressed in their usual garb when they went up to the bouncer. And it was only ten to seven in the evening. So they can count me in on the boycott.
Busaras, what are the names of the pubs in the Thomas Read chain that are now persona no n pinta?

Tip: BLOKES! Always bring a girl along to a pub and you'll never be refused entry.

Can we add Bruxelles to list ?
I know its not relevant but, its a totally personal grudge, being the only pub ive ever been thrown out of ever.
As for the Oak, i was once asked to prove my age there once. We'd been fairly regular until then and it was a blatant attempt to refuse my mates entry(5 of us all obviously over 25). Me and a friend told the said bouncer to fuck off in no uncertain terms. Weve never been back.

Face it lads, you may be successful business types at the cutting edge of industry and technology but you're obviously just not cool enough.....

What's the cool look for suave sophisticated internet developers this autumn then?

This season, the hip'n'trendy IT professional* is wearing Jeans, T's and boots. Pretty much the same as last season, and most probably next season. After all Mick, you don't want to get yer little black DKNY dress messed up while yer crawling around under your desk, now do you?
*term is used loosely to include software developers, Netheads and etc's.

The Thomas Read Group do not own The Globe....replace The Globe with Life and also add The Morrison Hotel. Unfortunatly I cannot conform to this boycott as The Harbourmaster is my local and I frequent The Bailey, Reads and The Morrison regularly.
Why not try a suggestion by the 5 O'Clock Shadow?......
TIP #5: DUBLIN RATE-PAYERS! Get loads of your friends together, wear scruffy clothes and drink some bottles of non-alcoholic lager in the "cafe" area on the street right outside the Bailey. Tell the bouncers their company doesn't own the street. You do.
