Went on Sunday. Great craic. The little Meath bollix winding up the 8ft tall Aussie forward till he hit him 3 sharp ones across the jaw. Priceless.

Have to say, them premium tickets are fairly swanky an all, legging it in after each quarter to sit on the radiators wih a cup of tea. nice.

I watched the replay of the first leg, followed by the live match. I thought it was great stuff. Those Aussie guys made our lads look small.

I was at the canal end for the first time in my life. We were lucky we got seats in the first covered row. Great game, great day out! It was really good to see so many kids groups and families there. Some one needs to explain to Brush Sheils what the Republic of Ireland means. My feet are still defrosting.

You should have sat and froze with the rest of us in the Lower hogan, not up with your fancy premuim seats

My 12 year old cousin went for free.
The GAA sent out 60 tickets to his youth club or Underage Gaa team cant remember which. But i think they did this with all the local clubs. Nice gesture.

I was sitting in my local. Nice and dry and full of spirits.
Great game. Plus i though Geraghty should have punched the head of that Aussie. For once he did'nt loose the head.

Thats the thing ro
That game was perfect for him.
But no, he ran around like a little lamb not wanting to get involved. But any normal game he's be hammering the head of everyone around him.

The lower Hogan must have been the most miserable place on earth yesterday. I don't think I've ever been that wet before.

Meath captain banned from Australia match ireland.com

The captain of the Meath Gaelic football team, Graham Geraghty, will play no part in this morning's first test in the International Rules series in Australia. His absence is for disciplinary reasons arising from the racial abuse of the Australian player who marked the victorious All-Ireland captain during last Tuesday's practice match against the AFL Academy team in Melbourne. The ban is for one match only

Bodger

No the fella he wa marking was a young player of abourigionie(sp?) decent.

He made some racist remarks during the game. But apologised to the player straight after the game. The young fella accepted and thought no more of it. But Geraghty got a Match ban. Rightly so.

i have to agree, it was Miserable, the wind was the worst thing- the quicker they do something with the Gaping hole at the end of the ground the better, at least it would stop the wind!
