kind of a spin-off from a thread elsewhere, but not really...

Does anyone know of a way to remove Super/Crazy glue from a surface (specifically, stainless steel and/or plastic.)? Something other than scraping with a knife or screwdriver.

I don't have two things I want to unstick; what I have is big clumps of glue from two things which were previously stuck together, and would like to re-glue together, but can't because these clumps of superglue are in the way.

heat it up - 175 degrees celcius usually does it

There is a superglue remover availible out there. Go to somewhere like an Atlantic Homecare and ask them. I've defo seen it somewhere, just can't remember where...

nail polish remover as long as it's something that wouldn't be damaged by it.

as opposed to good non-adhesive glue?

and joefuz is right. K is probably right too.

nail polish remover and a bit of scraping seems to be doing it, but it made my hand hurt. i'll see if the rest comes off tonight.

the plastic, which will melt, or the stainless steel, which will spark?

The stainless steel. It's great fun.
