one of the pics was of a hamster foestus(sp) which looked like it was yawning. it reminded me of BJ_lite first thing in the morning. i really do have to get out more often. :D
first time is ages i drank the black stuff. on top of white wine and the lager i had earlier on I was a sad state on saturday morning. i have never seen so many punters at a free bar. it was a real survival of fittest test to get a beer at one stage. :D

BJ did you stop for a snackbox on the way home? :D ;)
Great show...slightly disturbing and beautiful at the same time. Incredible use of colour.
Don't think I could handle having one hang on my walls tho.....

In fact I am I the only one who agrees with Ivan Massow (ex-Chairman of the ICA) when he called modern art "pretentious, self-indulgent, craftless tat". and "the product of over-indulged, middle class (barely concealed behind mockney accents), bloated egos who patronise real people with fake understanding"?
Imagine Tate would be spinning in his grave at thought of the crud displayed at a gallery bearing his name...

this is art ok... he isnt putting animals and jars and displaying them... the art is in the photography, the lighting, the composition..... they are incredibly beautiful photographs regardless of the subject matter

Agreed, poignant stuff. No, not pungent.

Oh, okay. That's okay because photography requires skill even if the subject matter is maybe not to my taste at least there is something to be had from the exercise. I thought I might be a bit like the tat that Tracy Emin and Damien Hurst produce...

Brrrrr. Chilling. :( I can see what you are saying about the pics but I still think there is something about the subject that I find nastly.

I thought they would be quite nasty but they are actually quite still and peaceful when you see them in person......

I did, found the evidence on a plate in the kitchen on Saturday morning.
It was a very interesting show, the use of colour was stunning, the subject matter unsettling and the presentation was very slick.
All the same I don't think I would hang one on my wall either...

isn't art supposed to be about all aspects of life, including the "nastly" bits, or is it just about the nicey stuff? the treatment of the subject is far from nasty - it's very delicate if u ask me!!!

A brilliant big show, superb photography, fantastic print quality, loads of ideas, well worth a visit. And don't forget to grab some of the free postcards.
