To date someone that you work with?
I know a lot of companies frown on this and some will even fire you over it. But do you think it's a smart thing to do?

LH, aside from the corporate outlook on this sort of thing, if you work with 'em and date 'em too, what areas of your life are you keeping just for yourself? It'd be a bit stifling, dontcha think?

I would tread very carefully....and keep it to yourself at first.

Also if either one of you is in a position of power over the other that could cause problems.

Don't know really. If they worked on a different floor and you had lunch together or something, I don't think it would be that bad.

I did it onec and it lasted nearly 2 years. but we were in different departments so we didn't see each other every minute.

I work in a company which has loads of couples. One guy who works with me as split with one girl in the dept. and is now with another - this in a department of 18 with 6 females. I can see it all ending in tears. I've seen it work and not work - I think it helps if you're not working directly together.

We have a couple that have been shaggin each other for over 3 years, they sit right next to each other and they never seem to have any arguements ever. The only problem is he's married.

I don't know if dating someone you are going to see every single day is a good idea. Unless your married. But I have seen people where i work date and then end up never speaking again. Actually I've seen it to many times.
